The Lentejí canyon is located very close to it’s  sister canyon Rio Verde, above the village of Almuñecar, on the coast of Granada. This is a more technical canyon with none less than twenty vertical drops, where you will undoubtedly improve your abseiling technique. 

The highest abseiling descent is in the middle of the river decent, in a spectacular 27-metre waterfall. It is a canyon that we consider to be a long one, as it takes about 6-7 hours to complete.

Although it does not match Rio Verde in its aquatic character, it does surpass it in the sporting aspect given the amount of rope manoeuvres it has and by making us feel that we are in a wild place, where few people have had the opportunity to go.

The Lentejí ravine in spring and summer

The first section of this river decent is a dry canyon in summer and autumn, followed by a second very aquatic section. In spring when the water runs with joy, it is simply spectacular and from TUUR we recommend it if you already have previous experience in other river descents.

In the summer season it is a good canyon for learning and practicing rappelling techniques and rope manoeuvres.

A descent to improve your abseiling technique.

We usually use this river decent to practice one of our canyoning courses that we offer, both for beginners and advanced courses. We also usually visit this canyon to update our skills as professionals, in rope handling, setting up installations and carrying out special rescue manoeuvres.

Lentejí is undoubtedly one of the canyons not to be missed in Andalusia.
