Colmenar de la frontera

Descent of the Guadiaro River, Malaga

Located next to the Natural Park of Los Alcornocales (the cork oak trees), this activity is designed for beginners in the world of canyoning as well as for those who are looking for spectacular scenery and a very complete adventure.

We will head to the most interesting source of the Guadiaro river and its spectacular gorge where we will start our adventures with jumps of up to 8 metres (optional) and rappels of up to 14 metres (also optional), we will swim the long cliffs that reach up to 100 metres long and we will venture down the river to the village of El Colmenar de la Frontera.

Ideal activity for groups of families or friends

If you are looking for an activity in the middle of the nature to do with your friends, your family with children, this is one of the most complete adventures we offer. You will go to the very heart of the small white villages of the Guadiaro valley where you can still breathe the traditions of the Spain of the 70’s, a village of muleteers, axes, goatherds and farmers who live from the resources provided by nature and the Alcornocales Park.

If you don’t know the Andalusia of villages, this is a place you must visit and get to know.

The river of my childhood

I have the privilege of being the descendant of a father who was born in the village of ‘La Estación de Gaucín’ and a mother who was born in the heart of the Alcornocales Natural Park. From emigrant parents, we travelled every summer to the village of my parent’s birth where I spent all my time running through the small streets, doing all the mischief that my boundless energy allowed me to do and obviously bathing every day in the different sections of the river.

It is definitely one of the most wonderful places on the planet and in Andalusia. Few villages can boast one of the most beautiful rivers, with beaches, long natural pools and a riverside setting like this little white mountain village.

And the enclave, unbeatable, surrounded by mountains on all four sides, it looks like an untouchable island that has withdrawn from the materialistic world in which we live.

I encourage you to visit it, relax there and stay for several days.

With 4 friends a great experience. The tour is great and the guide has done his utmost to make the experience even more enjoyable. Definitely a ‘must’ on the bucket list if you stay in the Marbella area. I should definitely recommend this tour!.
