Without a doubt, the dry canyon of Puerto Ramos is a magnificent option to test your physical and technical limits in a wild and unfrequented natural environment.

Its great attraction is its 100 metres of vertical drop in only 200 metres of horizontal development. It is a technical canyon and perfect to improve your vertical progression technique and to learn new ways of abseiling, rope climbing, self-belaying or blocking yourself to do parallel manoeuvres. On the day of the expedition, a masterclass will be given by our expert canyoning technicians. They will guide you through this experience teaching you all the tricks and rope manoeuvres to become an expert canyoner.
Topography and approach: Puerto Ramos consists of 7 consecutive rappels up to 26m high in an environment surrounded by majestic limestone rock faces. You will enjoy a comfortable 20m approach on foot and a short return to the starting point so you can concentrate all your energy on the canyoning experience.

Other things you may be interested if you will do the dry canyon of Puerto Ramos
This natural treasure is located just over an hour from the Costa del Sol, and if you are a great explorer, this area has many options to complement your day and make it a great adventure. Don’t miss out. Here are some of the other options available to you.
Via Ferrata of El Chorro
In the opinion of our team it is the most beautiful and complete via ferrata in Andalusia (you have a more complete description on this website). With a great vertical development of about 200 meters high (total development of about 650 m), it is the route that can offer you the most aerial perspective. And with its 35-meter zip line and its various monkey bridges, you’re guaranteed a dose of adrenaline!
Rock climbing
Perfect for beginners or for overcoming a big challenge. El Chorro is the oldest sport and classic climbing range in Andalusia. It is an international reference point. It has thousands of sport climbing routes of all levels, countless classic and multi-pitch routes of overwhelming beauty. Here our guides can help you whether you want to take a climbing course, venture out on a multi-pitch route or simply do some sport climbing. And if you want more information to get more adventurous, we are climbing fanatics and we can give you advice on the best routes according to your grade.
Hiking, peak climbing and MTB routes
There are several hiking routes and MTB trails not to be missed. The scenery will amaze you, especially in the rainy season. We have great experts in the area and MTB experts. One of our recommendations is the ascent to the Huma peak.
Kayaking on the Guadalhorce reservoir
Tthis is a very good option especially on the hottest days and when the kayak companies are already open for the season. Ask at the recreational area La Isla or at the Camping Parque de Ardales where you could spend the night.
Visit to the white villages
It is also a good time to relax, eat and visit the inland villages such as Antequera, Valle de Abdalajis and Ardales, just a few kilometers away and with a great historical interest due to the cultural variety they have forged over the centuries.
Other activities in the area
If you decide to go to Ardales, we recommend you visit the Ardales Cave, also known as Doña Trinidad Grund’s Cave. If you decide to go to Antequera, visit the Torcal de Antequera Natural Park and its unique geological formations. For lunch, we recommend the Mirador de Ardales restaurant, the perfect place to sample the rich gastronomy full of nuances that this corner of Andalusia has to offer and enjoy the magnificent views.
